Wen-Mac Texaco Tanker Replacement Parts: RUDDER (R/C) & STEERING ARM
THIS LISTING IS FOR ONE R/C RUDDER (with steering arm) ONLY.
Fix up or upgrade your old Wen-Mac Texaco Tanker with these new replacement parts.
Made from a tough new resin, these parts capture the details of the originals.
Listing is for one R/C rudder only (with steering arm).
The original Texaco Tanker rudder works well with the original propeller, but will foul any upgrade prop (such as from Raboesch or Graupner, 25mm OD with M2 threads) that you may want to install in an R/C conversion.
This rudder is offset aft to provide additional clearance. It features a reinforcing rib on top of the blade, and a shaft designed to accept the included steering arm.
The steering arm's set screw takes a 1/16" Allen key (not included). Do not over-tighten!
Do not use the coil spring used on the original installation.
I recommend applying some grease on the rudder shaft to minimize water ingression.
IMPORTANT: Depending on what prop you choose for your R/C conversion, further modifications to prop and/or rudder may be required. Suggestions are included with your new rudder.
