Fix up or upgrade your old Wen-Mac Texaco Tanker with these new replacement parts.
Made from a tough new resin, these parts capture the details of the originals.
Parts are properly painted to closely match the original, and come with instructions for obtaining the best fit.
Listing is for one Anchor Windlass only.
The Texaco Tanker anchor windlass is installed snugly in a hole in the foredeck, and it covers one of the deck screws. Sometimes they just go missing- not because they're loose, but because someone worked on the tanker and then misplaced it.
Removing the windlass is tricky. It's too small and slippery to just pull out. It has a locator pin underneath that prevents it from being twisted out. Prying is the only way.
To avoid marring windlass or deck, use a thin flat and curved tool as a crowbar, working around the windlass until it loosens. But first put some tape on the deck to avoid marring it.
And of course, if you are removing your windlass, you don't need this replacement part!
But if yours is lost, you may want to put some grease or Vaseline on the boss when installing it.
Dry fit the part first- you may want to use a small flat file to further reduce the boss for a looser fit.
Too loose now? No problem, a drop of white glue can hold the part while allowing for future removal.
