VHS Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Freight Train Pentrex Rio Grande 1990 1991 488 Steam

Description

On the last day of August & the first 2 days of September 1990, Mr. Jim throwbridge organized a freight special from chama to Antonio & return with 488 in charge. There are preparations at both ends of the line as well as lots of trackside action on the former Rio grande narrow gauge’s 4th division. Not to mention a healthy handful of onboard footage from the caboose. At osier, 488 makes a meet with 489 heading back to chama. On the return trip, the freight special meets with 487 heading to Antonito. Afterwards a few previews are included at the end.
Note: about 8 months after these scenes were recorded, the C&TS has activated Rotary snowplow OY for the very first time since 1983. Those trips can be found in not only the pentrex version of the steam powered plow in May of 1991, but also gandy dancer productions, & 2 future famous creators of the America by rail series Greg Scholl video & railway productions.
It’s already on DVD since 2006.
