Description

Released in 2006, this DVD is a collection of four (4) vintage 16mm films converted to DVD, all related to railroading and the railroad industry, titled RAIL INDUSTRY FILMS. Produced by Greg Scholl Video Productions.
According to the cover information, running time is approx 92 minutes. Some of the footage is in black-and-white; some in full-color. Of interest to steam locomotive fans is a 1948 program by the New York Central featuring their famous Hudson type 4-6-4 engine (20 minutes; in black and white). Also in black and white: publicity footage form the Pennsylvania Railroad from the 1930's or early 1940's (approx 20 minutes). The two features on this DVD in full-color: 1946 program by American Steel Foundries showing the test of their new trucks for freight cars (approx 24 minutes). And another short film by the American Steel Foundries that shows testing of ASF brakes using the Milwaukee Road Hiawatha type steam engine (approx 29 minutes).
