Description
A Pair of Triang Channel Islands Ferries with an Important Varied history during both war & peace.The first to enter service was "Isle of Guernsey" in 1929.
She was one of three Channel Island ferries - sailing from Southampton to Guernsey, Sark & Jersey owned by Southern Railroads. She was 300' long and 42 ' breath. She could carry up to 1,400 passengers. She served in numerous guises. With the outbreak of war, she served as a hospital ship. She too rescued survivors at Dunkirk.
In 1961 she was retired from service.
As sister ships, both ships shared similar specifications. "Isle of Sark" was launched in 1931. She too served the admiralty during the war as a radar training ship. She was the first vessel to use Denny-Brown Stabilizers. Retired from service 1960.
These wonderful models are all original. They are in good condition excepting the normal paint chips and missing masts.
No repaints, touch ups here. She is just as she has been for the past Sixty Years. She was given to me as a child. There is no box.
