    Description

    This program features countless articulated engines: Norfolk & Western Class A 2-6-6-4’s with 1218 during an excursion in Florida from another green Frog title: Suwannee steam, Y class 2-8-8-2’s, J Class 4-8-4’s, & a pair of 4-6-2’s doubleheading on a passenger train.
    On the Duluth Missabe & Iron Range, there are 2-8-8-4 Yellowstones, & last but not least: the Union Pacific 4-8-8-4 Big Boys with 4-6-6-4 challengers especially 3985 during it’s excursion service in April of 1991 while doubleheading with 844 from Cheyenne to Sacramento for the 10th anniversary of the California State Railroad museum the following May as well as an excursion from Salt Lake City to McCammon Idaho after the Cheyenne departure and before the journey to Sacramento where Fun fact alert: 2 more Popular railroad video Producers-Pentrex & Greg Scholl were also there for both the Doubleheader & the McCammon trip with the since been retired Challenger in action.
    Aside from the big 3 mainline road names, a short segment on the Rayonier in Washington state is also featured which includes former Sierra railway number 38.
    Clips from not only the Steam in the ‘50s trilogy are featured, but also highlights from 1218 Suwannee steam, & Railfair ‘91: come to the fair.
    All in all with many footages from various cinematographers: Jerry Carson, Emery Gulash, and Rob McCormack, Bob carerra did a marvelous job narrating this hour long tribute to lots of articulated steam engines from the blue ridge mountains to the Utah desert.
