    Description

Ever wondered what it was like to work on the railroad especially operating a steam locomotive? Well throughout this 3 part set, you are going to a special school on how to fire up a steam locomotive, learn the parts of the engine such as the weights, the domes, the smoke box, the firebox, the controls in the cab & the important thing: multiple pipes called boiler flues. You can also learn how to start the engine, stop the train, & the easiest thing of all: learn whistle signals.
Fun fact: most of the scenes from parts 2 & 3 from 1992 (despite it was recorded in 1991), were eventually used on one of the children’s real world of big machines videos from 1994 titled: grandpa worked on the railroad.
I also have 2 versions of the 3 part series: the 1995/1996 publishers choice video reissues, & the original prints from the transition of 1991 into 1992. Even though volume 1 was originally recorded between 1978 & 1980.
