Pentrex Frisco 1522 1994 Vintage VHS 90 MinutesFrisco 1522. Recapture the joy of steam railroading over the Ozarks as Frisco 1522 pulls a passenger train from St. Louis, Missouri, to Birmingham, Alabama. This 4-8-2
Mountain-type locomotive, known for its classic looks and "loud bark," pulled the Peach Blossom Special to the 1994 NRHS National Convention, in Atlanta, Georgia. Pentrex captures the 1522 as it travels over its home rails for the first time in almost 50 years!
The 1522 ran flawlessly during its three day trip along the route of the former Frisco Railroad. You'll see it up close and personal as we take you for a ride in the cab. The 1522 pulled its 18-car train unassisted over the Ozarks' steep grades including Dixon Hill, the longest and most difficult run of the steam-era Frisco Line. The magnificent locomotive was a thrilling sight as it ran across the delta straightaways at full track speeds of up to 60 m.p.h. pulling NS's gorgeous Tuscan red passenger cars.
Enthusiastic spectators eagerly welcomed the 1522 to Birmingham as it completed this historic journey. You too will enjoy all the action of steam railroading at its best in Pentrex's exciting production of Frisco 1522!
