53 RR ACTION & RR DAYS AT DURAND, MI & PM 1225 STEAM, 1996:
Spend time at Durand RR Days, with some GT/CN, VIA, action, along with Pere Marquette 1225 Steam, train show, Corunna & Owosso, MI areas. We see CM U23Bs at Durand on trains 770 and 771. At Durand depot, filmed from across the tracks with the depot in the background, we see GT & CN diesels with some CSX pool power mixed in.
Then we film the 1225 at Oak Street with interior and exterior shots. The Bluewater Historical Society excursion train arrives at the depot, and the passengers from Royal Oak, Ml leave the train for lunch, and the train heads for the yards. VIA/AMTRAK 364 and 365 Internationals meet just West of the depot on Saturday. After attending the train show at the fairgrounds, we catch the 1225 at Hibbard Road and Corunna, Ml, on its way back to Owosso.
We also film it at Owosso for several run-bys before the Shiawassee County Historical Society puts it away again. Also see several Tuscola and Saginaw Bay locomotives parked at Owosso, Ml. We then return to Durand for more GT/CN action. Towards the end we are at NS’s Muncie, IN East Yards, where we get a close look at their new GE DASH 9-44CWs, including a cab tour. 5/96
