    Description

In this recently turned quarter century old trilogy, there are countless fallen flag road names on regular passenger service before the official debut of Amtrak on the first day of May 1971. Volumes 1 & 2 ran for 30 minutes, while the final volume ran for a full hour.
For example, On the Boston & Maine in volume 1, there is the flying Yankee where it was once on display at edaville park before it resides at the hobo railroad in Lincoln New Hampshire, as well as the budd cars out of Boston’s north station & into Salem tunnel way before these tracks are owned by the Massachusetts bay transportation authority’s commuter rail’s Newburyport/Rockport line. On the New York Central, the f units are leaving back bay & heading for south station as it parallels interstate 90 known as the Massachusetts turnpike. Today this route is not only owned by the MBTA, but also Amtrak’s lake shore limited. Meanwhile the new haven operates FL9s on the route of the northeast corridor which includes various locations before the tracks between new haven & Boston’s south station was electrified: Providence Rhode Island, canton viaduct, & Attleboro station.
All of these 8mm films are recorded by Lyle key.
While the title of the series said it was recorded in the 1960s, there are a few more passenger & freight trains just during and after Amtrak’s arrival in the 1970s.
I have 2 copies of this 3 tape set: one with all volumes recorded on Maxell tapes, the other with basic unbranded videotapes.
