COLLECTOR QUALITY!
This is an original motor from the 1940s or 50s for early Japanese battery operated motor boats. This IMP motor was made for toy motor boats that the same company put out as as well as for other battery operated motor boats such as those offered by ITO, TMY and K&O. This motor is big and a good improvement for the smaller one you have. Or maybe you want to display a super clean version in your collection...
I think this one could have been used in IMP boats, as well as the ones such as ITO, K&O/Fleet Line, TMY, etc.
The motor unit footprint is 1 5/8" . Add another .5" for the metal rod extending out. If we include the mounting bracket, it is about 2 3/8". It is approximately 1 1/8" across and about 5/8" tall not including the factory attached bracket.
The mounting bracket sides allow for a 3/8" elevation, with a straight across flat fit. (Check out our other listings for an interesting version with a curved fit). There are three mounting holes--two on one end and one on the other side.
If you collect vintage model or toy boats, this is one of those things you have to grab when you see it.
It may not be the biggest motor, but it may be the cleanest.
CONDITION:
C-8. Tested and works. Cosmetically looks real nice. The brass part of the ase is still shiny, and the IMP name is strong. The dark blue die cast housing is in great shape. The motor shows a little oxidation. Wow--you won;t find it cleaner unless it is still packaged and unused! No BOX.
