Description
In this historic collection of color films from 1949 to 1973 there are lots of countless freight & passenger trains in Southern California which includes various spots on Cajon pass, the Pasadena subdivision, & on the coastline to San Diego during the early years of Amtrak. In addition to the streamlined diesels such as the Alco FAs & EMD F & E units, there are several steam locomotives included, which contains one of the future famous surviving 4-8-4s in regular service that is still on display in kingman Arizona: 3759. All of these scenes minus the 1973 segment was eventually used in the historic hot spot series from pentrex in 1995. So now we know where these films originated from before Pentrex acquired & remastered these films from Mr. Kistler, as well as adding the dubbed audio. A pair of printed sheets are included: one for a double sided paper with one side for the scene index with all the films shot by Mr. Kistler as well as Chet Hogan & Henry wong, & the other side with a note from the cameraman himself, while another sheet of paper contains a catalog for reproductions of the authentic Santa Fe employees timetable.
