Here's a Music Master horn loudspeaker manufactured in the 1920's. The speaker has a very rare and quite beautiful spruce bell.
Condition is excellent throughout. Clean original finish on the bell, with scattered minor marks and blemishes consistent with age and authenticity. The Music Master decal is original and nearly perfect. The textured paint on the elbow and base is original, with scattered minor marks, but nothing significant. Gold veining inside the elbow is also original. None of the enameled surfaces have been repainted or touched up.
Nickel-plated collar on the bell is clean, with minimal tarnish and no rust.
The felt on the underside of the base has been replaced, and there's some surface oxidation on the driver cover, but the base is otherwise clean, and the driver cover is secured with its original rivets.
The driver is good, and the speaker will work with almost any early 1920's battery radio. It plays loud, and it sounds good.
In the last photograph, the speaker is pictured with an uncommon and beautiful Atwater Kent Model 2
radio that I'm listing separately on ebay this week. I've posted the photo so that you can see how great the speaker looks with a radio The radio is not included with the speaker.
Stands 23" high, with a bell diameter of approximately 14".  Shipping weight, properly packed, will be about 25 lb.
That's about it.  Rest assured it will arrive at your home in the same fine condition in which it leaves mine. I have been shipping antique phonographs and radios for years, and if you check my feedback, you'll see that I know how to do it correctly.   Buyer prepays and includes shipping. If you're bidding from overseas, please contact me in advance for a shipping quote.  And please note that the speaker cannot be shipped to countries on which the USPS places 79"  (length plus girth) package size restrictions.
